- Removal of Contaminated Materials: Safe removal and disposal of the carpet, underlay, and affected timber smoothedge that were no longer restorable.
- Sanitization: Application of a specialized antimicrobial treatment to eliminate spores and prevent future growth.
- Air Quality Control: Installation of Air Scrubbers to filter airborne particles and ensure a breathable, safe environment throughout the process.
- Structural Drying: Deployment of industrial dehumidifiers and high-capacity air movers to extract moisture trapped within the plasterboard and the subfloor.
3. Safety, Compliance, and Results
- Protection Protocols: Safety is our top priority. All works were carried out following strict biosecurity protocols, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and specialised masks for mould handling.
- Timeline: Following an initial “Make Safe” phase to secure the area, the invasive works and disinfection were completed in a single day. The drying and air purification cycle remained operational for 7 days to guarantee optimal moisture levels before final completion.
- Final Result: All areas affected by mould and cross-contamination were successfully remediated, ensuring the rest of the home remained protected.
